Puzzle Recall - Small World Wooden Sound Puzzles

Thursday April 12, 2007
Dateline: April 11, 2007

Small World is recalling two wooden-knobbed sound puzzles due to a choking hazard. The puzzles, about 78,500 units, were sold under the Puzzibilities and Ryan's Room brands from 2003 through 2007. The four-piece puzzles have knobs which can come off, posing a choking hazard to young children. Though no injuries have been reported, the manufacturer has received 42 reports of the knobs detaching from the puzzle pieces.

The recall includes the "Sounds on the Farm" Puzzle and the "Sounds on the Go" Puzzle, four-piece puzzles with shaped pieces. The puzzles make animal or motor sounds when the pieces are lifted by the knobs.

The puzzles sold under the Puzzibilities brand were sold at toy stores, various retailers and by catalog from June 2003 through February 2007. Those sold under Ryan's Room were sold at Target Stores from January 2006 through February 2007.

Consumers should take this toy away from children immediately. For a free replacement puzzle , contact Small World Toys at (800) 421-4153 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. PT, or visit their Web site at www.smallworldtoys.com.

The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
