World's Largest Online Jigsaw Puzzle

Monday February 22, 2010
What is claimed to be the world's largest online puzzle has been launched and players will also be doing their bit for charity while taking part.

Puzzuka is inspired by a traditional jigsaw puzzle and consists of 260 million mini-puzzles, forming a much larger puzzle made up of more than 20 billion pieces.

Joëlle Kuster, director of the project, said: "We thought it would be great if we could use the massive popularity of puzzle games to bring people together and show just what can be achieved when the world collaborates."

It's free to take part, but you'll need to register. Money generated by advertising on the site will go to global charity Enfants du Monde, a non-governmental group that helps disadvantaged children through educational and health development projects.

Carlo Santarelli, general secretary of Enfants du Monde, said: "Puzzuka's concept of donating proceeds generated from advertising sponsors provides us with a new and innovative way to raise money. This means everyone who plays Puzzuka will have a hand in helping raise money for charity, but without having to make cash contributions.
