These Olive Ridley hatchlings are less than one day old but ready to take the plunge. A small yolk sac on their underbelly will sustain them for the next two weeks until they can forage for themselves. The ones that survive that is. Out of a thousand hatchlings perhaps only 15 will live to maturity.
