Definition: Interlocking puzzles are manipulative puzzles in which the challenge is to completely disassemble and then reassemble the puzzle. One or more pieces hold the rest together, which can make both assembly and disassembly difficult. Interlocking puzzles come in all kinds of interesting forms and are made of wood, plastic or metal. Examples of interlocking puzzles are Chinese wood knots and burr puzzles.
