Looking at our example grid, we can see that two of the cages consist of a single square with a target number and no math symbol. Since there is ony one number in these cages there can be no mathematical interaction thus eliminating the need for a math sign. These cages are 'give-aways' to get the novice solver started and only occur in very easy puzzles. We can enter the two 4s in their respective squares.
